Vancouver to San Francisco Tour 2016 – A Cycle Tour by someone who’s never cycle toured before – Day 4 – Lake Crescent to Rain Forest Hostel, Forks, WA

Day 4 started off as Day 3 ended – Wet.

Paul found me in the toilet block warming my hands under the dryer as it was a pretty cold night. This was mainly due to the fact that I had no ground mat, meaning all my heat was used to warm-up the water under my ground sheet, not my body.

Vancouver to San Francisco Tour 2016 – A Cycle Tour by someone who’s never cycle toured before – Day 3 – Victoria to Lake Crescent, WA

I left Canada for to the USA. There are 2 main ways to negotiate Washington (from the book). One was the Inland route (East of the Olympic Mountains), and the other was being the Peninsula route (West of the Olympic Mountains). You can summarise this by either the Dry (inland) or Wet (peninsula) way. I chose ‘wet’ because I thought the rain forest would be pretty.

Vancouver to San Francisco Tour 2016 – A Cycle Tour by someone who’s never cycle toured before – Day 1 – Vancouver to Schwartz Bay

Day 1 = WTF am I doing

I rose nice and early to catch my first ferry of the day from Horseshoe Bay, but the first task was to cross Vancouver City to get to the North Shore. Vancouver is the biggest city en route before San Francisco so although it’s pretty easy to navigate, it was a bit stressful.
